A famine of the Word of the Lord (21 May 2017)

A small group of people was gathered in our garden. I was with them.
A voice boomed from heaven. “In time to come, there will be a famine, not of food, but of words of the Lord. Demonstrate what that will be like.”
Instantly the group aged and light disappeared from their eyes. They became like dead bodies wandering around - they nearly bumped into me, yet didn’t see me, although they were seeking someone to eat. With arms stretched out in front of them, feeling their way around, they walked.
I took a bowl of food and quickly went to hide it in the kitchen cupboard. I hid it there so that no one could take it from me, so that I would still have some food later. After hiding the food, I kept out of the way of the others.

Scripture reference:
"The time is coming when I will send famine on the land. People will be hungry, but not for bread; they will be thirsty, but not for water. They will hunger and thirst for a message from the LORD. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken. People will wander from the Dead Sea to the Mediterranean and then on around from the north to the east. They will look everywhere for a message from the LORD, but they will not find it. On that day even healthy young men and women will collapse from thirst.
(Amo 8:11-13)

"I am the bread of life," Jesus told them. "Those who come to me will never be hungry; those who believe in me will never be thirsty.
(Joh 6:35)

I am coming soon. Keep safe what you have, so that no one will rob you of your victory prize.
(Rev 3:11 )

Interpretation:
Darkness swiftly increases in the world. More and more we will see people walking around like zombies, with no hope. Let us recognize the value of the gift of the Holy Spirit God has given us, and make use of every opportunity to hide away his Word in our hearts.

Prayer:
Father God, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank you that even though our bodies are decaying, You renew our spirits, daily. Thank You for the promise that You will never leave us, or forsake us. Father, please help us understand the treasure we have in your Word, and in your presence with us. Free up time for us in our busy schedules, so that we can spend more quality time with You. Write your Word on our hearts so that we will have the light we need to carry us through the dark days ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
