Coming famine

Coming famine

At our gate are two starved dogs the size of horses. One is black, the other pale. They’re looking for food.
“Wait out there,” I say. But the dogs ignore me. The pale dog continues down the street, and the black dog pushes into our yard.
My inside trembles. What if this giant dog attacks my dogs? Making my voice thick, I say, “Wait here, in the front yard. I’ll go fetch food.”
No surprise—the black dog doesn’t listen to me. It follows me into our home. But he keeps his distance from my dogs and doesn’t hurt them or me.

Interpretation:
There are years of famine at our door.

First, a politically induced famine, which we already have entered. This famine, caused by leadership’s deliberate actions, will lead to economic collapse and widespread poverty. Leadership’s motivation for inducing famine is to implement a communist regime and communist methods of farming. (Similar to Holodomor, Ukraine)

Because of this induced famine, many people will have to live from the country’s staple food (maize). Later, bugs/diseases will attack the maize crops, and a natural famine will result. (Similar to the Irish Potato Famine)

The tough times ahead are fulfilling Bible prophecy of the end times. We can’t avoid what’s going to happen and should prepare to endure in faith.

Our hope:
The famine can not rob us of our faith. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. He makes a way where there seems to be no way.

Scripture reference:
When the third seal was broken, the third beast said, “Come and see.” I saw a black horse, and its rider carried scales in his hand. From the middle of the four beasts, a voice said, “A measure of grain for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny: and see that you do no damage to the oil and the wine.” The fourth seal was broken, and the fourth beast said, “Come and see.” I saw a pale horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Hell followed him. They received authority over a fourth of the earth to destroy by the sword, by famine, by death, and by wild animals. (Rev 6:5-8)

Prayer:
Father God, give us the grace to endure in faith and run this race to the end. In times of famine, may your children always have food to eat. Thank you, God, for assuring us that nothing can separate us from Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
