Royal Wedding (3 Nov 2018)

We are waiting for the royal wedding. I am a young girl, excited to see the princess. Suddenly, I get a glimpse of her long train, as she and her fiancé walks with the gangway, onto the ship. The ship is about to sail. I want to run after the royal couple, but another girl stops me.

Next, I am a waiter. I am told to go serve on the ship. But, when I look for the luminous glow sticks I will need to do my work, I don’t have them. It will be dark on the ship, and pointless for me to serve if I don’t have the necessary light.

Scripture reference:

The parable of the ten wise virgins
"At that time the Kingdom of heaven will be like this. Once ten young women took their oil lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and the other five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any extra oil with them, while the wise ones took containers full of oil for their lamps.
(Mat 25:1-4)

Interpretation:

Two thousand years ago, Paul urged the believers that Christ will soon return. So, how much more should we not now be prepared. Let no-one hinder us, and let us daily soak in the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:

Father God, free us from the influence of any people who are holding us back from following You, wholeheartedly. Pour Your oil over us afresh, and do so continually. Fill us with joy as we wait for Christ’s return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
