South-Africa, don’t give glory to the enemy*.

South-Africa, don’t give glory to the enemy*.

The chaos in our beautiful country is real. Shopping centers are being looted, people are dying from crime, disease, and hunger. Fear tries to take the throne.

But God whispers in my heart, “Don’t give the enemy*, glory. Don’t fear those who can kill only the body. Fear the One who can destroy both body and soul. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Remember - these things, going on in the world, must happen. The sins of the world are heaping up, leading towards the end of all things.

"Because I am good, I lead My children to repentance. Still, I do not want to make you sad. But if by making you sad for a little while, your soul will be saved, I know that you will be eternally glad. I am a good Father, and I discipline those I love. No one enjoys discipline while it is being performed. It is painful. But afterward, there is the reward of right living for those who have been trained by it.

"Look at Bible history. When Israel abandoned My ways, I ordered their enemies to attack them. Egypt, Babylon, Assyria... Satan had to ask My permission to sift the disciples. I prayed that their faith would hold, and afterward, they would strengthen others.

"I am still the same.

"Love that has been perfected, drives out fear. Because fear has to do with judgment. And so, as you yield to My hand shaping you, as you submit to the fire of purification, you will gain peace that transcends understanding. If I am for you, who can be against you?

"Still, I understand your human emotions. I weep over your pain. The fear I battled in the garden of Gethsemane... I sweat blood!

But I am already at the end, too. I know the fruit that will come from you and rejoice over that.”

Memories of dreams I had about the times we are living in, spill into my mind. Four of the dreams, Jesus highlights.

I share a summary of their messages:

1) Tsunami - a school (4 May 2017)
A great uprising of the people, and looting, will take place. But this is our hope: God is in charge, over everything. Like with the plagues of Egypt, God has orchestrated a grand plan to display His glory in South Africa and in the world. For us, His children, it is time to draw near to Him. And if we have not yet fully surrendered to Him, now is the time. When we lay our lives down in full submission to God, we are hidden in Christ, with God. We find shelter in the shadow of His wing.

2) Hungry dogs (9 Apr 2017)
There will be a politically induced famine, followed by a natural famine. But this is our hope: The famine can not rob us of our faith. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. And He makes a way for us where there seems to be no way.

3) Warning of coming war (4 May 2017)
Worldwide there will be steep inflation, and there will be war*, in South Africa. But this is our hope: God’s angels are with us, to protects us and guide us to the place He has prepared. All these things are already written in the Bible. And when we live in relationship with God, He prepares our hearts for what He is about to do in our lives and in the world. The war we face is not one against flesh and blood*. Our weapons are not carnal, either.

4) Singing French Bulldog (18 Jul 2019)
Many secrets will be brought out into the light. Shortly after, steep tax hikes will lead to a revolt/ war*. God’s army is not ready. Many have not even started training. But this is our hope: These things must happen. God is stirring the hearts of us, His children, to arrive for duty. And He will equip those He called. Again, our battle is not against flesh and blood*.

*Note about war/ enemy
*At first, I thought God was warning me about a physical outbreak of war. Later, I realized that although there might come a physical war, God is warning us of the spiritual impact of what happens in the physical. The things that happen around and to us, are bound to stir up war within our spirits.

Children of God:
I sense the Lord urging all of us, His children in South Africa and the world, to be still and know that He is God. He is both kind and severe; loving and just. He disciplines those He loves. So, then, let these trials that come, not surprise us. Instead, let our faith be purified by them.

And before we take a stand of religious righteousness, let us remember that we are saved by grace. God loved us while we were still sinners. All of us fall short of the glory of God.

How we can yield to God’s work of purification of us:

Let us, by God’s grace and through the power of the Holy Spirit

- humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand.

- repent, in action, not just in word

- renew our minds, then we will know God’s perfect will

- pray, according to God’s will

- take thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ

- praise and worship

- wear the full armor of God

- resist the enemy* and he will flee

- keep our eyes on the unseen

- arm ourselves with the same attitude Christ had.

Practical things to do:

Let us

- tighten our belts, work wisely with what we have

- share the resources God blesses us with, material and spiritual

- accept the help God sends our way

- keep peace with others, as far as is possible

- obey authorities and pray for those in power

The Good News is – Jesus has all authority. He already won the victory, and the enemy is his winnowing shovel.

In the aftermath of the chaos, we already see God being glorified. The people of South Africa are uniting in prayer and worship. And God answers our cries by pouring out His strength, His peace. He helps us as we take hands to clean up and rebuild.

We can now begin to celebrate the joy of seeing God’s name glorified, despite the chaos. Yet, God urges us to keep on drawing near to Him, to keep soaking in His presence. As we do so, He will strengthen us for the remainder of our journey here on earth. Darkness will increase. But His light will shine all the brighter.

Scripture:
Isa 42:24-25> Who gave Israel up to the looters? It was the LORD himself, against whom we sinned! We would not live as he wanted us to live or obey the teachings he gave us. So he made us feel the force of his anger and suffer the violence of war. Like fire, his anger burned throughout Israel, but we never knew what was happening; we learned nothing at all from it.

Isa 43:1-4> Israel, the LORD who created you says, "Do not be afraid---I will save you. I have called you by name---you are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through the fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the LORD your God, the holy God of Israel, who saves you. I will give up Egypt to set you free; I will give up Ethiopia and Seba. I will give up whole nations to save your life, because you are precious to me and because I love you and give you honor.

Heb 12:27-29> The words "once more" plainly show that the created things will be shaken and removed so that the things that cannot be shaken will remain. Let us be thankful, then, because we receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Let us be grateful and worship God in a way that will please him, with reverence and awe; because our God is indeed a destroying fire.

Prayer:

Father God, many of our lives have already been plundered and looted by the worsening economic climate before the COVID pandemic even broke out. By now, few businesses can recover from the impact of the lockdowns, and many more people find themselves unemployed. And then chaos and looting happen.
But You know all of this. Thank You, God, that You know, and that You rule.
God, we find ourselves in a place where we do not have the physical means or the strength, in ourselves, to continue. We weep before you, oh God. Help us!
You hear our cries, and we praise You, God. We experience Your supernatural intervention, personally. You are on the throne! We see Your Light shine in the darkness. Our hearts are flooded by Your peace. And we experience how You make all things work together for the good of those who love You and are called together for Your purpose.
Now we realize that by Your presence in us, we can overcome all the power of darkness. In this world, we may have trouble, but You have overcome the world. Thank you, Jesus, for your grace. Thank you, that You saved us.
We praise Your holy name.
God, please send your angels to draw a hedge of protection around us. Provide in all our needs and heal our broken bodies and hearts. Above everything, help us to remain firm in faith, running to win the prize of eternal life, with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
