Be vigilant
Father, I was terrorized in my sleep
with dreams of robbers, and wars
that filled me with dread.
But the first rays of morning light,
washed away the memories
of my fear and of the fight.
The birds' song is chirpy, so joyful -
my heart joins them in praise of You.
With flowers adorned, our garden colorful -
worship You, now, is all I want to do.
But You urge me to stand guard,
to stay vigilant and sharpen my sword.
The enemy will again attack,
if not can kill, to cause me lack.
So both I will do -
sharpen my sword, and sing.
I know You fight for me,
My Father, and my King.
with dreams of robbers, and wars
that filled me with dread.
But the first rays of morning light,
washed away the memories
of my fear and of the fight.
The birds' song is chirpy, so joyful -
my heart joins them in praise of You.
With flowers adorned, our garden colorful -
worship You, now, is all I want to do.
But You urge me to stand guard,
to stay vigilant and sharpen my sword.
The enemy will again attack,
if not can kill, to cause me lack.
So both I will do -
sharpen my sword, and sing.
I know You fight for me,
My Father, and my King.
